Hi there! My name is Joanie, and I am a junior here at The Woods! Originally I am from Pittsburgh, PA but now I live in Longmont, CO when I'm not at school.
I am a Biology major with a pre-vet concentration, chemistry, physics, and equestrian science minors. When I'm not busy with classes, I like to do all kinds of things around campus. I am very involved in Greek life, the Biology Club, our Campus Activities Board, and many other clubs at William Woods. I also am working with one of the science faculty members on an independent research project!
I chose William Woods University because I knew I wanted the experience of a small college, and the science program here is excellent! I went to a very small high school so having small class sizes and building good relationships with my professors is important to me. Also, I wanted to be able to combine my love of science with horses to get the best of both worlds in my education.
Other than school and campus activities, I love going to the local restaurants and coffee shops in Fulton and I like to go to the movies. My friends and I enjoy outings to Columbia or to local Fulton parks. If I want a quiet afternoon in, I enjoy reading and cooking!
Thank you for visiting our blog! If you have any questions about me or William Woods feel free to ask!
