Love is in the Air!

Hello, again!  I'm finally winding down from a terrifically romantic Valentine's day and refreshing weekend with friends!  I hope your Valentine's day was exciting and full of warm fuzzy feelings.  I'm still on a bit of a sugar rush from all the chocolate and candy I took in this week, but I want to keep in the heartwarming spirit by sharing the things I just LOVE about William Woods University!

chi o letter

These girls inspire me every single day. I'm so fortunate to have friends that want me to be the best version of myself and push me to get there everyday. Thank you, sisters!

First, I'd like to highlight my extreme love for the Greek life on campus!  I love my Chi Omega sisters!  I feel like I have such a great bond with the women I live with, and I can't imagine my life without them.  As a community, I know my fellow Greek men and women feel the same way about their sorority or fraternity!  There is so much support that the Chi Omega chapter offers me, and I know I can always be myself when I'm around them.  Nothing quite compares to the friends that become sisters, and the house that becomes a home!

I love our free laundry, and I bet my momma does, too!

courtwarming

It was so much fun being on the Courtwarming court. Thanks to my Woods friends for their support!

I really loved Courtwarming week!  Courtwarming is our version of homecoming, but during a basketball game.  We have fun events all week and end the week by crowning a king and queen at the basketball games.  Check it out; it's yours truly wearing that crown!  It was such an honor to be this year's queen, and I didn't mind standing next to Nate Bitner when he won either! :)

I love that I can enjoy outdoor activities at the Woods.  During the spring, it's always fun to go kayaking or play sand volleyball with friends.  Sometimes, we even have small bonfires by the lake!

Next, I want to share my maaaad love for my basketball teammates!  I've been so fortunate to be part of this team, and we have so much fun together!  Just take this weekend's game against Missouri Baptist for example:  we were singing and dancing in the locker room before we went out on the court, and I can't imagine pregame any other way!  I also really love the support we get from the coaching staff and athletic training staff.  I can always talk to my coaches for just about anything, like letters of reference or where to get my car fixed in Fulton!  As for the athletic trainers, where do I even begin?!  They keep my body healthy and pain-free, which I'm forever grateful for.

Don't let us fool you! When we took this picture, we couldn't hold these serious faces for long. After about 3 seconds of intimidating faces, we lost it and couldn't stop laughing!

I love that I can rent movies from the library instead of going to the RedBox.  It's just so convenient!

I love that I can stop by the Owl's Nest for a quick Starbuck's break.

Is it weird that I love that we have Mountain Dew in Tucker Dining Hall?  I have a serious love for Mountain Dew...

I especially love the amount of squirrels on campus.  They are so cute!

If you know didn't already know, I love my on campus jobs!  It's so convenient that I can earn a paycheck doing things that I like, and not having to drive offsite.  As a Community Advisor, my workplace is actually my residence hall (and more specifically, my room!).  I get the opportunity to work in my sorority house and help build a community among all my friends.  Also, with it being a small campus, I get to know my supervisors really well and I can always rely on them for help, guidance, and most importantly, a good laugh.  This is true for all on campus jobs, too!  It's great to work with your classmates!

Lastly, I want to just say that I love the experience I've found here at the Woods.  I have learned so much inside and outside of the classroom that I don't know if I would've learned anywhere else.  I love the relationships I've built with professors and staff members, as well as my classmates and friends.  I've said it before and I'll say it again:  there's nowhere else I'd rather be!

Thanks for reading!  I hope you enjoyed my post.  Leave a comment below about what YOU love about WWU!

  1. I love the professors at WWU, the small class sizes, and my AMAZING little sister. Having a Greek family is seriously probably the best thing that has ever happened to me at WWU. I love my big, little, grand little, and great grand little so much!! But most of all, my little inspires me so much to keep at things, to never quit, and to keep a positive attitude throughout life.
