At William Woods University (WWU), the Business degree program provides excellent preparation for those interested in taking on the corporate world – or even starting their own business – after they graduate. The university offers multiple degrees including business administration, management and leadership, along with technology-based degrees. All of these programs work cohesively, yet are specialized to allow students to find their place within the business model of all companies.
Most of the classes for this program are taught in the Burton Business and Economics building, which provides students with the resources they need to be successful. This includes computer labs equipped with updated software for developed training and a student think tank for studying and project expansion, necessary for growing entrepreneurs in today’s market. Burton is also home to the William Woods DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) chapter, a student-led organization with the purpose of developing leadership, networking, and teamwork skills. Established in 2007, WWU DECA has developed a well-deserved reputation of excellence, with multiple students each year traveling to state competitions to display their skills before a panel of judges while receiving numerous accolades. Although DECA is highly beneficial to those looking to develop their entrepreneurial skills within the business program, it is open to all students on campus who are looking for a great way to refine their professional skills.
One of the most beneficial characteristics of the William Woods program is the alumni involvement and networking. Each student has access to resources to make connections outside of the classroom, allowing them to demonstrate their talents before leaving WWU to enter the “real world.” Each professor on campus has years of in-depth business experience, providing primary sources of skill and a realistic understanding of the corporate world. William Woods prides itself on the ability to give students the support they need in an ever-growing world filled with competitive minds, with the added bonus of relationships with alumni that can make all the difference!
