Hello! My name is Alexis Bailey, and I am a senior at William Woods University. I am majoring in biology with a pre-med concentration and also have minors in chemistry, math, and equestrian science. Following my time at William Woods, I am interested in attending medical school. I am originally from Mesa, Arizona but have also spent time in Texas and even Kuwait! Now, my horse Molly and I enjoy our time in Missouri.
My time at William Woods is filled with activity. I am very involved with my schoolwork, but I also spend a lot of time at the barn. I also look for ways to be involved outside of the William Woods community, such as with Hospice Compassus and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. I think it is extremely important to be involved both on and off campus, and I strive to do that every day.
I first learned about William Woods University when I was twelve, and I dreamed of coming for the horses. As I progressed through high school, I decided that biology was very interesting to me and decided to pursue a biology degree at WWU. While William Woods was once a place to ride and learn about horses, it has become so much more to me. I absolutely love my friends, my professors, my schoolwork, and every moment I spend on campus in the community. It is so special to be surrounded by a network of supportive and interested people, and I would not be successful without them.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my roommate, Catie, and go to movies, ride horses, and spend time reading/studying (always with coffee!). College has provided me with so many opportunities, most importantly the chance to be independent and discover my interests and achieve my goals. If you’re ever interested in discussing all that William Woods has to offer, I would love to chat!
