About Dakota

Dakota in Baseball Univorm

This is me on the ball field suited up for a game.

I am Dakota Smith. A senior here at William Woods University, I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics and Finance. I am a member of the Owls baseball team, Omicron Delta Kappa Society, Treasurer of Student Alumni Council, I am a part of the Fraternity Expansion Committee, an Orientation Leader, and past Mentor in the WWU Freshman Advantage program.

At Freshman Advantage, we sometimes dress up.

My passion is people. Interaction with all the students and faculty at William Woods makes this school feel like home and keeps me motivated. I enjoy conversation and welcome sharing opinions and ideas with others. The ability to share experiences with other people and grow as a person creates a progressive learning environment for every member of the William Woods community.

In my spare time I like to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play ball and laugh with my friends. On weekends you can find me at the Stone Campbell Apartments on campus hanging out with friends or on the baseball field making plays. My down time is spent relaxing with the people I love, watching movies, barbecuing, or getting ahead on some coursework!

Dakota and Brian

This is me officially signing up for a new fraternity on campus.

I am a big philosophy buff. One of my favorite phrases of all time is from the Disney movie "Lion King", Hakuna Matata. "It means no worries, for the rest of your days!" Hakuna Matata reminds me to relax and have fun with whatever I may be doing. Your mindset and attitude about every situation determine the success and overall value of your experiences.   I always keep an optimistic outlook about life (I do my best anyway...).

Peace and blessings, my friends!
