Career Services

I was walking through the McNutt Campus Center today and I excited to see one of my favorite people in her office, Amy Dittmer! She is the director of career services and student transition.

Amy Dittmer, very happy to see me walk into her office.

My first experience with Amy was when I was a freshman and attended many Career-A-Palooza events. Career Services packs Career-A-Palooza with many fun events all about building a resume, creating a cover letter, getting the interview and more. This includes LEAD points. I was able to transition my resume into the professional world.

I have since met with Amy for many occasions. This past spring, I made an appointment with her to spruce of my resume and cover letter because I was applying for summer internships. Thanks to her help, I landed an internship at Inside Columbia magazine. My summer was filled with many memories and it was a truly rewarding experience, however creating a great resume is never static. I am constantly making changes and additions.

I was also lucky enough to have Amy come to my Portfolio Development class. I sat through a cover letter/resume presentation, and though I had met with her many times, I was still excited and I learned new things. I then met with her and her graduate assistant, Beth Oseroff, to continually advance my resume.

Whether they are helping me with my future career or chatting with me at Starbucks, Amy and Beth are gems to have on campus and great role models for my life.
